Who this applies to

This privacy policy explains how Belleville Plumber ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information you share with us through this website, our quote form, our phone line, or any voicemail you leave with us.

We are a local plumbing service based in Belleville, ON. We are bound by Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to your request and complete the work. That includes:

• Contact details: your name, phone number, and email address.
• Service address: the address where the plumbing work is needed, so we can route the right tech and confirm we cover that part of the Belleville area.
• Description of the issue: what is broken, when it started, and any other context you give us so we can quote and prepare correctly.
• Voicemail recordings and transcripts: if you call our line outside hours or we miss the call during hours, your voicemail is recorded and automatically transcribed so we can return the call efficiently.
• Basic website analytics: page views, referring source, and aggregate device type. This is not tied to your identity unless you also fill out a form on the same visit.

We do not collect payment card data on this website. If we need to take payment for completed work, that happens through a separate processor at the time of service.

How we use it

• To respond to your quote request or callback request.
• To dispatch a tech to your address and complete the work.
• To send you the invoice and any follow-up about the specific job we did for you.
• To improve how we route and prioritize calls (for example, recognizing emergencies versus routine quotes).

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for marketing purposes. We do not run an email newsletter.

Voicemail recording and call transcription

Our phone line ((613) 707-3422) is staffed during business hours. Outside hours, or if all techs are on a job, calls roll to voicemail. The voicemail greeting tells you the call is being recorded.

Recordings are stored in our service-call database along with an automated transcript so we can return calls in priority order. Recordings older than 12 months are purged.

Who we share it with

We share the minimum needed with infrastructure providers that operate this site and our phone system:

• Cloudflare (hosting and DNS for this website).
• Twilio (phone line, voicemail recording, transcription).
• Supabase (database where quote requests and call records are stored).
• Email provider (forwarding messages sent to info@bellevilleplumber.ca).

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments. They do not use your data for their own marketing.

We do not share your information with any other third party except where required by law (for example, a court order or a legitimate request from a Canadian regulator).

Where the data is stored

Most of our infrastructure is operated by Canadian or globally distributed providers. Some data may be processed on servers outside Canada. Where that happens, the providers are bound by data-protection commitments comparable to Canadian standards.

How long we keep it

• Quote requests: 24 months from the date of the request.
• Voicemail recordings and transcripts: 12 months.
• Service-call records (invoiced jobs): 7 years, to meet Canadian tax and warranty record-keeping requirements.
• Website analytics: 14 months in aggregate form.

Your rights

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can:

• Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct any information that is wrong.
• Ask us to delete information that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected (subject to the retention rules above for tax and warranty records).
• Withdraw consent for us to contact you about future quotes.

Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. Standard browser cookies may be set by Cloudflare for security and performance. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on the homepage for at least 30 days.
