Terms of Service

The plain-language terms that apply when you book plumbing work with us.

These terms apply when you contact Belleville Plumber ("we," "us," or "our") for plumbing work, whether through this website, the quote form, or by phone.

How we book and respond

Our phone line ((613) 707-3422) is answered during business hours: Mon to Fri 8 to 6, Sat 9 to 3, Sun closed. Outside these hours, calls roll to voicemail. We do not market 24-hour service we cannot deliver.

We return voicemails and quote requests in priority order. Active leaks, sewage backups, and other emergencies jump the queue. Routine quotes are typically returned within one business day.

Quotes and pricing

  • Quotes are estimates until we are on site. Once a tech sees the actual problem, the final price may be higher or lower than the phone estimate.
  • We confirm the price before we start work. If the on-site assessment changes the quote, we will tell you the new number and you can choose to proceed, decline, or get a second opinion. You only pay the trip-and-diagnostic fee if you decline.
  • Trip-and-diagnostic fees apply to most service calls and are credited toward the repair if you authorize the work.
  • Hill-top, outer-community, and after-hours surcharges are disclosed up front when you book.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work unless we have agreed to other terms in writing in advance. We accept e-transfer and major credit cards. Returned-payment fees and overdue interest at 1.5% per month (18% per year) apply to any balance not paid within 30 days of the invoice date.

Warranty

We stand behind our workmanship. Specific warranty terms are stated on each invoice and depend on the type of repair and the parts used. Manufacturer warranties on parts we install pass through to you under the manufacturer's own terms.

If the same problem comes back inside the workmanship warranty window, call us. If we caused it, we fix it at no charge. If it is a related but separate failure, we will tell you and quote the additional work before doing anything.

Cancellation and rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule a booked appointment at no charge as long as you give us at least 2 hours notice during business hours. For appointments booked outside hours, the same-day notice rule applies once we open. No-shows and same-day cancellations after a tech has been dispatched may be billed the trip fee.

What we are not responsible for

  • Pre-existing damage discovered during the work that is not caused by our repair.
  • Cosmetic damage where access for the repair required opening walls, ceilings, or fixtures we did not install. We will tell you when this is likely before we start.
  • Code-compliance issues elsewhere in the home that are unrelated to the specific work we were hired to do.
  • Failure of components we did not supply or install.
  • Damage caused by power surges, water-supply interruptions, or other events outside our control during or after the visit.

Honest scope of service

We are a small local team. We will tell you up front when a repair is not worth doing and replacement is the better call. We will tell you when a job is outside our wheelhouse and refer you to someone who can handle it.

We may update these terms over time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes are announced on the homepage for at least 30 days.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct conversation between you and us will be handled in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
